Matt Calcutt has been working at Squaw Valley since 1992 with Lily joining his side in 1996.  Lily has since moved on.  Matt is still very involved with the program and brings years of experience to the team as an advisor

Matt is the co-founder and member of the board of directors for the Placer County Avalanche Dog Team which is active in assisting in avalanche rescue throughout the sierras.

Matt has worked a variety of jobs over the years including ski patrolling in Australia at Perisher Blue, an Outward Bound Instructor, working for the US Forest Service as a wildland firefighter, a firefighter/EMT with Squaw Valley Fire Department and a long list of other occupations in which you may have seen him in the Tahoe area or in the sky over Auburn.
